Short answer: Yes. CityPlace (now known as Rosemary Square) is one of the best places to live if you’re looking for off-campus housing near Palm Beach Atlantic University or want to be in the heart of Downtown West Palm Beach.
As a former Palm Beach Atlantic student and now a graduate, I spent plenty of time looking at off-campus housing options. Like many students, I wanted something close to campus, safe, and within walking distance of the places I actually spent time. CityPlace consistently stood out as one of the top choices.
In recent years, finding housing near PBA has become even more important. While the university has expanded its housing options and continues developing new residence halls, many upperclassmen and students over the age of 21 are expected to find housing off campus. That has led many students to explore nearby apartments and shared housing opportunities throughout Downtown West Palm Beach.
One of the biggest advantages of living in CityPlace is the location. The area is just a short walk from Palm Beach Atlantic University, making it easy to get to classes, campus events, and the waterfront without needing to drive every day. You’ll also be surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops, fitness centers, retail stores, and entertainment venues, all within walking distance.
Safety is another reason many students choose CityPlace. While no area is perfect, being located in the center of Downtown West Palm Beach means there is typically a lot of activity, foot traffic, and security presence compared to many other housing options farther from campus.
The biggest drawback is cost. Apartments in CityPlace can be expensive compared to other areas in Palm Beach County. However, many students reduce costs by living with roommates. When rent is split between two or more people, the monthly cost can become surprisingly comparable to what some students pay for on-campus housing.
The recent renovations and continued growth of the Rosemary Square area have made it even more appealing for students. The neighborhood feels modern, walkable, and connected to everything happening in Downtown West Palm Beach.
If I were a student at Palm Beach Atlantic today, CityPlace would be at the top of my list. You get the convenience of living close to campus while still enjoying the independence of off-campus living. And because many PBA students already live in the area, finding compatible roommates is often easier than you might think.
